Say Boo to the Flu!

Last week 43 MBS teachers and staff members received a flu vaccine at our staff flu clinic! We are committed to helping our school community stay healthy this winter. Now is the time to get your child vaccinated against the flu. Getting the flu shot is recommended for all kids ages 6 months and older. Not only will it protect your child from the flu, it will also help prevent the spread to classmates, siblings, and other family members.

The flu shot is the most important way to prevent getting the flu. You can also teach your child to do frequent handwashing and to avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth at school.

There is both an injection and nasal spray available this year. Check with your pediatrician to see which is the best option for your child.

The CDC has a lot of information about the flu vaccine for children like this Flu Guide for Parents.
